River Whiteadder

The Hutton Mills Estate water on the Whiteadder provides an opportunity to fish for early salmon and sea trout in beautiful scenery just a stones throw from the Berwick by-pass Historically this river has yielded a good number of springers.The beat has been improved and fishable areas increased allowing up to 4 rods to fish in comfort. Rod prices range from £20 in Feb. to £55 April / May per day and can be booked by the day or week. The Estate also has grass reared pheasant poults for sale at competitive prices. When you buy 1000 poults or more you can take a weeks fishing free!

Seatrout and Salmon fishing on the Annan

We have several weeks and rods available on this lovely river. I personally fish this water for sea trout every year and would recommend it to anyone. The water is split into three beats, which change daily at mid-day, with three rods on each. There is some streamy water on each beat so you can fish for sea trout during the day, as well as lovely glides for the most exiting sport when the light has faded. As these beats are situated immediately upstream of the estuary they benefit from fresh fish, running on each tide. Personally I fish for these shy creatures with the fly, but spinning is permissible at appropriate height of water. However during the autumn with water heights normally up, a good proportion of the salmon are caught on spinner. These fish include the well-known grey backs in the 25 LB + class. Accommodation can be arranged starting with a small apartment 3 miles from the fishing?s, which would suit the seatrout fisher, sleeping 3/4 people. This starts at £250/week. Hotel rooms can be also arranged in several of the nearby country house hotels.

Holiday Cottages With Fishing

Sea Trout, Salmon and Grayling on the River Till.

There is a stretch of this well-known sea trout and salmon tributary of the Tweed which is now available for up to three rods. The Till is better known for its seatrout with the fish running from March. These fish tend to be in the three to five pound class, with smaller two to three pounders running the river from May onwards. The salmon run through the year, but follow the main river with the bulk coming in the autumn. The Till also has a little secret the grayling grow to record size and you can get the opportunity to catch a specimen fish on the beat.

Also there is a very comfortable holiday cottage with the fishing which can sleep up to five people. This is available on weekly lets starting at £200/week.

Lambley Country Estate South Tyne

Situated in the South Tyne valley at Lambley Farm the fishings comprise of three quarters of a mile double bank fishing with three main pools with other runs, which will hold salmon, sea trout and trout Access to the beat from the farm is a short walk and to the opposite bank via the road bridge or by wading in lower water. This water is ideal to combine with a family holiday or break. There are two beautifully converted barns, one sleeping four the other three people. They have fully fitted kitchens TV?s, wood burning stoves and separate bathrooms with shower.
